Abacus Stone Sales supplied a range of reclaimed Yorkshire Stone to this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The stone supplied featured in a show garden called 500 Years of Covent Garden, created by JPH Landscapes based in Sheffield.

The garden’s design captured the history of Covent Garden and its inspiration came from the floral heritage of the area. Three different states of Yorkshire stone were used to capture some of the iconic sights of London’s historic and much loved Covent Garden, including reclaimed Yorkshire Stone Cobbles which were used to create a path leading to the centre of the garden.

The heart of the garden was a bespoke seating area that gave uninterrupted views of the garden. Behind the seating area were bright iron arches similar to the arches that feature in Covent Garden’s Market Building.

The garden was sponsored by the Sir Simon Milton Foundation, which wished to share the identity and culture of the famous London district with visitors.

Judges at the show awarded the garden a Silver Medal.

Abacus Stone supplied Yorkshire stone cobbles, reclaimed Yorkstone coping and Yorkshire stone cathedral grade flagstones, which were hand picked and featured throughout the show garden.
